The Moving Picture Company (MPC) is a world leading post production facility creating high-end digital visual effects and computer animation for the feature film, advertising, music and television industries.  A wholly owned subsidiary of Technicolor, MPC is based in Soho - London, Santa Monica - CA and Yale town - Vancouver.  The facilities are centrally located, networked and have a dedicated digital infrastructure designed and built for our future.

MPC works on some of the most exciting commercials in the world today.  By mixing fresh talent from different cultures, we’ve built a dynamic team of artists and a diverse creative portfolio.  Recent creative work has included spots such as Michael Gracey’s ‘Evian Skating Babies,’ Vernie Yeung’s ‘Sony BraviaDrome’, Traktor’s ‘Virgin Love at First Flight’ and Dougal Wilson’s ‘Coca Cola; The Organ Player.’  The team were also instrumental in contemporary classics such as Juan Cabral’s Cadbury’s ‘Gorilla's Moment,’ Jonathan Glazer’s, Sony Bravia ‘Paint’ and the Volkswagen Golf GTi, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ (N-eo).   
International feature film work that MPC is proud to have worked on in the past months includes ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ (David Yates), ‘GI Joe; The Rise of Cobra’ (Stephen Sommers), and ‘Angels & Demons’ (Ron Howard).  In 2009, the Vancouver studio completed more than 250 shots for ‘Watchmen’ (Zach Synder) and worked on Jonathan Mostow’s ‘Surrogates’.  Examples of other projects completed by MPC in recent years include; James Bond’s ‘Quantum of Solace’ adventure (Marc Forster), CG Mammoths and Cityscapes for ‘10,000 BC’ (Roland Emmerich) and the major VFX contribution for ‘Narnia, Prince Caspian.’  

Projects we are currently working on include; ‘The Wolfman’ (Joe Johnston), ‘Prince of Persia’ (Mike Newell), ‘Clash of the Titans,’ (Louis Leterrier), ‘Robin Hood’ (Ridley Scott), ‘Narnia; The Voyage of Dawn Treader’ (Michael Apted) and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ (David Yates).  The Vancouver facility is working on ‘Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief’ (Chris Columbus) and ‘Ramona and Beezus’ (Elizabeth Allen).

Digital connectivity means no communication boundaries when working on international projects.  Work in progress can be transferred between Clients and MPC for approval and we are proud to offer remote Telecine grades between the MPC bases in London and Santa Monica.  

MPC also has a department dedicated to developing CG for TV, most recently they completed a promo for Syfy’s re-brand and developed idents for the Sky channels, and stunning animated characters and visual effects for Sky One’s adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s ‘The Colour of Magic’ and ‘Hogfather’ directed by Vadim Jean which won the VFX BAFTA.  They also provided the visual effects for Coldplay’s ‘Life in Technicolor ii’ and ‘Strawberry Swing.’
